The Autism Society of Albania (ASA) Center aims to provide a multidisciplinary and comprehensive approach to the treatment of children with developmental difficulties. We aim to provide effective and personalized therapies, based on contemporary methods and carried out by dedicated professionals in the relevant fields. Our target group includes children aged 2 to 15 years, who face:

At our center, each child is treated as a unique individual, with potential and needs that require special and individualized care.
We believe that every step forward, no matter how small, is a great achievement when done with love, patience and continuous support.

Our goal is for children to expand their abilities, to feel accepted and valued, while parents find support, information and hope at every stage of their journey.

Our history

The Autism Society of Albania (ASA) was born out of an inner and deep need to build a structure that not only provides therapy, but also becomes a voice for children and families facing developmental disorders.

After several years as a Director and Developmental Therapist, the founder of the center felt the need to create a genuine association that would enable equal access to therapy for every child, regardless of economic opportunities.

This initiative was born out of the desire to give hope and support to Albanian families, who often face numerous challenges – from the high costs of therapies to the exclusion of children from the community and educational institutions.

Autism does not only affect the child – it affects the entire family and society.

For this reason, ASA aims to build a comprehensive center that:

We believe that only through cooperation, empathy, and social inclusion can sustainable development and real progress be achieved.

Director of the Autism Society of Albania

Founder Anxhela Kaziu

After several years as the Director of the ASA Center and at the same time a developmental therapist for children with various developmental disorders, I felt it was necessary to establish a genuine association. This initiative was born as a response to the difficult reality faced by many Albanian families, who, due to economic conditions, cannot afford the costs of therapy for their children. During my work, I have met parents who face numerous challenges every day – from the inability to attend professional therapy, to the non-inclusion of their children in kindergarten or the community. They often shared with me their stories with pain, the doors that have been closed to them, and the feeling of loneliness in the face of such a great challenge. It was precisely this reality that pushed me to take a bigger step: to create a structure that not only offers therapy, but also becomes a voice for these children and support for their families. Autism does not only affect the child — it affects the entire family and the surrounding community. It is a difficult journey that requires continuous support, social inclusion and deep understanding.

The mission of the Autism Society of Albania is to create a comprehensive center:

– That provides professional therapy for children;

– That trains parents to follow and support children’s development on an ongoing basis;

– That builds bridges of cooperation and empathy in the community. We believe that only if all these areas are worked on simultaneously, the effect of therapy can be profound and long-lasting.
